What if i dont go to orientation?

I am a entering freshmen of fall 2012 student, major is mechanical engineering.
I will not be in this country for the whole summer, wont come back until september 14th. so what if i dont go to orientation? should I even pay for it if I dont go? or can i have someone else go for me? please inform me. >_<
by the way, i still havent heard anything about financial aid back. last month, they asked me to submit household verification and 2011 tax transcript, and I submitted them. is this normal?

thanks

You register for classes when you go to orientation. If you don’t attend, the hold on your account preventing you from registering until you go see them and have them clear it in person. By that time, I would imagine most of the classes would be full.

then can somebody else go for me?

I highly recommend you to look into the 4-year-pledge:

[Graduation Pledge | Academic Programs | Cal Poly Pomona](http://www.csupomona.edu/~academic/programs/grad_pledge/index.shtml)

I am pretty sure you get your photo ID there that day. Maybe you should call them or cancel your trip.
