Hi,
I’m currently looking to major in CS, CS is the main “running theme” of application, but my SAT math score just barely scrapes 600 and my high school math grades have only been A once.
Will colleges look down on this, even if I show a genuine interest in STEM? I am taking AP Comp Sci A at my school and my senior project AND my extracurriculars revolves around my passion.
CS is a hot major atm and it can be competitive. If your math is sub 600 then you may find the better CS programs will not admit you. All you really can do is apply and see what happens. Admissions is a tricky thing and is not always understandable from the outside looking in.
Good luck.
@MassDaD68 Thankfully I just barely scraped a 600, but it’s definitely a sub-par score. I’m not applying a school that has a large or particularly competitive CS program so that may not be detrimental. Thanks for your reply.
