What if you're an ORM and a URM at the same time?

<p>My friend is 50% black, 50% chinese, and Jewish. Haha, I know, funny combonation. Anyways .. would her URM status be canceled out by her ORM status?</p>

<p>not if you don't report your ORM status, and just say you're black</p>

<p>If you don't want to risk it -- you could just check off African American and say thats the way you like to identify yourself (if you are atleast 50% you are well within range to do this).</p>

<p>If you check off Multiracial/Other, you still might get the URM boost but its questionable.</p>

<p>I would put "multiracial" and specify. The parent names give it away, also. I think being a Chinese/black Jew is pretty diverse.</p>
