wow, the simplest questions are stumbling me over.

Should I just leave blank for the occupation?
or put housewife.

Put Homemaker.

I would leave it blank. I just assume that occupation means that there is some kind of monetary gain involved. But I could be wrong.

im sure theyll assume she is a stay at home if you right 'none' or 'n/a'

no they put none or N/A for zombies , but if she's a housewife, "homemaker" is what you should put

or let her decide what to put. I made my mother do the parent part, since I had no idea what to put for college years and all of that.

If you put none or n/a they might assume she isn't there -- that you are separated from your mother by divorce or something and have little contact.

the online common app has a menu option for housewife or homemaker... something like that. so they probably want something there.

Ask her what she considers her occupation to be, if any.

Also, if "housewife" or "homemaker" seems too old-fashioned, "stay-at-home mom" is an option.

put "homemaker"

my mom said to put "domestic engineer"

I put "homemaker" for my mom.

The answer is homemaker. It's not really something where multiple opinions are warranted.
