What Internet Browser do you use? (And most importantly why!?)

At the moment, Chrome. I switched a few days ago from Firefox because FF was crashing and being slow, but now that FF 4 has come out, I might switch back (we’ll see). It would take a lot to bring be back, though. I have a graph of the percentage of my processor power being used over the last 30 seconds, and FF consistently had it up to 75% of two processors. The vast majority of the time, Chrome doesn’t even get to 25%. Chrome also runs faster and smoother, and I was able to find all of my FF addons (including adblock) on Chrome. Also, since I almost always have around 10 tabs open, I find it easier to close one since I can do it without switching tabs.
Again, I haven’t had a chance to try FF 4, so I might switch back if it’s as good as Chrome. I’ll never go back to 3.5, though.

“I find it easier to close one since I can do it without switching tabs” -> Firefox’s middle click to close tab has been around for centuries.

Firefox, because it’s highly customizable

Google Chrome and Safari (for apple products)

Usually Firefox, sometimes Chrome, Safari for certain sites (like the common app, woo) that only work with, well, Safari (I have a mac)

I also have Rockmelt, which is basically a browser integrated with facebook, but I feel it’s completely unnecessary. I’d rather have facebook open on a tab. Besides, the facebook IM’ing isn’t quite in sync with facebook; it says certain people are online that aren’t and vice versa.

The Common App worked well on Firefox for me. Are you using an older version?

chrome is da best

Chrome > Safari > Firefox > Internet Explorer.

FF and chrome.

Though I have installs for several more on my external just because I have 2tb of space and I like hoarding program versions like that.

My only problem with Chrome is that when another tab is loading, it lags terribly on the tag I’m scrolling on. It irks me to death. Firefox is also incompatible with a lot of the sites I use, it takes long to start up, and it uses a lot of memory. I’ll never use IE though.

Gotta agree with iSenior’s list.
But, Chrome ALL THE WAY.

firefox>everything

I mean really, have you guys tried Firefox 4?

At the top of my page, I’ve got a sleek bar half an inch wide with a custom background, tabs, and all the options I need. Whole rest of the screen (aside from start menu area) is the internet page. It runs quickly, hasn’t crashed on me yet, and is a breeze to use.

^ I agree with BillyMc, and

omg he has 1999 posts

I broke 2000 a couple days ago, but CC decided that I was unworthy and lowered my post count for me.

Though there’s little more difference between 1999 and 2000 as there is between 2152 and 2153. If humans didn’t have two sets of five fingers, multiples of ten would seem special at all.

Acari on my desktop & laptop (apples) and Terra on my iPad

chrome. it’s the best.

but safari for the common app :)

Used to always use Chrome.

Downloaded Firefox 4 yesterday. It’s nice and fast. I don’t see a difference in speed between Chrome and FF4. When stuff is cached and ‘cookied’ your page loads faster anyways.
I think I’m going to stick with FF4 because of thunderbird. I like to have the same thing/brand. :)

Screw benchmarks, most of them are favored for one browser. As for the benchmarks that are neutral you don’t know what they are measuring!!! Those “points” have no real meaning. I could say that my pen scored 450 “pen points” and your pen scored 300 “pen points”. In real life my pen could might just write smoother by a tiny tiny bit.

I use Opera, Chrome, Firefox 4, IE 9 but not Safari. Safari doesn’t tend to get too many good reviews at least on PC. For my own convenience, I just use which ever I feel like, although chrome is really fast and convenient, firefox has more functions with add-ons and ie9 is there for the fact that it looks so simplistic and because I use windows
So for me,
Firefox for functionality and overall excellent browser.(Add-ons are REALLY handy)
Chrome for simplicity and quick use.
IE9 for aesthetic appeal, and because it belongs with windows.
And thats my top 3 browsers, just from the top of my head.
