I know this question has been asked a lot, but I'm unable to find one that exactly fits my situation. I'll be graduating in May, and I don't turn 18 until mid-July. I have a decent (good, depending on who you are) academic record, and I will be attending a highly ranked school (which is a potential bonus on applications). I've been looking for places to work, but nothing good seems to be available. The most promising thing I've found so far is Starbucks, and I'm planning to major in international relations. I live in a rural area, so an internship that directly relates to this field will be impossible if not extremely hard to come by. What are my options? Does anyone have a recommendation? Making money is nice, but $2000 dollars is really not a big deal in the grand scheme of things; I want a great experience, something to put down on applications for real internships when I get to college. What should I do? Should I aim for Starbucks? A local newspaper? What looks good and may relate to international relations? (I'm considering government and economics as well.)
