What is a passing grade at Fordham?

For a class at Fordham, what is a passing grade? Is it a D or a C?

Thanks

According to the Official Bulletin of the University, accessible online I believe through Fordham’s website, a D is an “unsatisfactory grade, but the lowest possible “passing” grade.” Meaning, you pass but its a big black mark on your transcript and indicates poor scholarship. An F is a failing grade.

A “C” is satisfactory and an acceptable level of performance. A C- is considered minimally acceptable level of performance.

In my opinion, you don’t want anything lower than a C+ on your transcript unless you have extenuating circumstances beyond your control to explain it to a prospective employer (and perhaps the Dean if you are in danger of losing a scholarship or being put on probation or forced to withdraw.)

Adding that a D might not count toward your major or minor either.

Thanks, and can I also ask when is the last day to drop a class with a W this semester? Some people were telling me it already passed, which doesn’t sound correct… another person told me it isn’t until around November.

Well I can look it up for you or you can look it up yourself…or ask the registrar…CC is not really here to do your work for you and answer those types of questions. Its mostly for kids looking for college admissions. It seems a bit lame you are asking us to do your own research here. Are you responsible?

But here it is:
