What is a Wesleyan student called?

Is there a special name? For example, Yale = Yallies, etc. Or are they just called Wesleyan students?

And this does have a purpose...I'm writing my essay and it will be important information.

I heard of weskid and wesfolk before. Those may be too informal for an essay though.

I like the word "Wesfolk." It's charming.

cardinals- their mascot

No special name, thank god. Yalie=YUCK!!!

yeah I guess it is sorta against the whole idea of Wesleyan to define all students by a certain name. :D

Are Brown students called Brownies? This has been bothering me, but I think it's too dumb a question for the official Brown board.

brunonians. Seriously.

Some Wesleyan students call themselves "lucky":

brunonians?

i think i'd prefer brownies, even if people related me to a bunch of third-grade girls :)

Hehe. Wesleyanites, wesfolk, weskids... yeah :D that's pretty much all I can think of :o)

When I was at Wes in the 1980's those of us at Womanist House printed up a bunch of T-Shirts calling ourselves Wesbians. Of course, we lived at Womanist House. Does Womanist House even exist anymore?

Womanist house still exists... I don't know if it was like this when you were there, but now it's has a large percentage of women of color, and many are heterosexual.
