What is an introductory class like going to be like for me?

for chemistry? I got a 2 on the AP exam and forgot everything... :(

for biology? there are 2 intro classes. I got a 4 on the exam and I probably would remember some. If not, I'll relearn it quickly. I can exempt one of them so should I?

for physics? I am currently taking that class and I made the sad mistake of memorizing rather than understanding. i get some of the material now though

yeah and should i take calculus I or survey of calc first? I got an A in calc AB last yr and got a 3 on the exam but i forgot a lot. I know how to get the derivative tho, lol

Should be easier since you’ve had the material before - it will be your second time learning everything. Intro courses are supposed to be taught with the assumption that you’ve never learned it before. If you’re planning on majoring in the sciences, I would re-take the classes, even if you can test out of them. If it’s just to fulfill general ed requirements then use those AP credits :p.

You must be a Waka Flacka fan. lol

Intro classes are going to be pretty much what your college thinks that you should have learned in high school (doesnt necessarily mean thats what you learned). Chem is pretty much High school chem, same with calc. for Bio, depends on what you college considers an intro bio (for my school, it was like genetics which was pure hell for me) but its not going to be something ridiculous like Plant psychophysiology (just making up a name of something). Physics probably wont be like high school physics (especially depending on if its calc based or not). One thing to remember is to find out your limitations early so that you minimize your mistakes and wont have to be in school for 8 million years. You’ll do fine

Sounds like you’re thinking of majoring in science–you should probably retake the classes, especially if you’re going to a very good college.

You might want to rethink taking physics, bio, and chem in the same semester. That’s a pain and probably not something a first semester freshman should do…You’re gonna want time to adapt, make friends, stink overcrowded dorm room rompfests, whatever.

Chem will be time intensive no matter what. Bio is straightforward but might need some study time. Physics will depend on whether you can grasp it–could be your easiest or hardest class.

so you guys dont think that i would have any trouble with intro chem even tho i forgot everything? i got to a state school btw (strong in the science tho)

Won’t be a problem. College intro sciences start from the very basics and you don’t need any background to do well in them. I’d definitely forgotten chem by the time I took it in college (and never took AP chem, so didn’t have a super strong background anyway) and I was fine. Lots of students will be in the same boat.
