Is it basically a class where you read a bunch of classics and the teacher will just give you tests over the book? Is that how you are graded in the class?
Teaching style is not what is standardized among the APs. Ask the teacher or your classmates.
Agreed; it really depends upon the teacher.
They are going to have a new AP Lit teacher next year and I don’t know anyone who has taken it. Some example of what to expect would help.
Probably ~ 4 major works/quarter supplemented with poetry. Assessments will include exams, essays, possibly a research paper, as well as practice from past AP exams
I haven’t taken the class, but I know people who have. Everyone says not to take it because you’re assigned multiple books at once and you have to write a lot of essays. Of course, this is how it is at my school and every school is different.
AP Lit is the easiest class at my school, we basically did nothing for the whole year. Just two projects that you could complete within a day.
