I plan to apply to CAS RD for comp sci. What traits are characteristic of a CAS admit? (Are they looking for breadth or depth in EC's, other things like that) I'd like to know in order to emphasize these things in my app/essay, thanks in advance for replies.

Bump. Sorry if this sounds a bit general, but it would be a great help if anyone could give me an idea of what to accentuate in my app for CAS.

I can’t claim to know exactly what they are looking for, but as a CAS alumnus, I would emphasize the breadth of your interests. Unlike other colleges, CAS gives you that traditional liberal arts education, which means you’ll be taking a lot of non-CS classes. I would try to balance your passion for CS with your wide variety of academic interests.

Thanks mikey, that sounds like the direction I am going in right now in my essay, I’ll try to make that fit my app as well. Any more ideas/opinions are appreciated.

bumping once more, any info would be great

The College of Arts and Science is the largest college within Cornell, but the smallest liberal arts college among the entire Ivy League, with a student body of 1000ish kids.

CAS kids have varied interests and are well rounded. Take a look at this: [What We Are Looking For](http://as.cornell.edu/admissions/good-candidates.cfm)

Thanks, Iheartschool, helpful stuff.
