I'm applying to the cooper union art program and I'm currently working on my home test and I'm still not sure what they want out of it. Do they want to see creative ideas or do they want to see my art skills like painting? And the sketchbook is difficult because I don't keep a sketchbook I keep an idea book, could I submit that instead?
I'd love anyone's thoughts on this
thanks :)

Totally submit your idea book that would be perfect. Really open up in your application get personal, don’t get personal… show skill, show risk in sacrificing skill in order to discover something you didn’t know before. All of it. Show they everything.

The funniest thing is once students are at cooper you don’t really think about that hometest and application again. You try to make a big leap in finishing out that thing in high school and then you are too focused on making even further leaps that when you look back at that starting point it looks sooo far away. It gets exciting. You receive the hometest when you have finished your second year here and it is always fun to see the change you’ve made.
