What is Dardick House like?

Does anyone know if the rooms in Dardick House are carpeted? Is there a place on the wustl website to view the floor-plan or inside pictures?

There are floor plans. Go to http://reslife.wustl.edu/ Then Residential Areas and South 40. Click on your dorm and floor plans.

I had pltl there. It is very nice haha.

I lived on Dardick 1 (D1) my freshman year. The floors are carpeted!

Pros of Dardick:
-Very clean
-Spacious lobby area with sofas and a plasma screen TV. (I heard they just got new sofas this summer)
-Once-a-month pancake and ice cream parties. While all Res Colleges have cool events, Dardick’s are the most well-attended.
-Plenty of study rooms (2 per floors and 3 large rooms on the first floor)
-Printers (!)
-Because it’s just straight hallways of rooms, even though it’s a modern you get the a strong community vibe
-Private bathrooms that get cleaned twice a week (a trait of all moderns)
-Location. (Because it’s right on Shepley Drive, you can always get dropped off right in front of Dardick and don’t have to walk across the 40 to get to your dorm. Also useful when ordering food to tell them “the first building on the left.” You’ll understand eventually…)
-When there are a lot of people making noise on the Swamp, it won’t bother you because it’s so far away
-10 foot ceilings if you live on the first floor (!!)
-The RCD (Res College Director) is awesome. Her name is Steph.

Cons:
-Location. (Because you’ll never see the swamp and won’t know if there’s anything interesting happening there. Also, if you live on the parking lot side of Dardick, during the Spring the softball team practices at 8 am with loud pop hits that will always wake you up.)
-While Dardick is very clean, the other moderns (with the exception of Park) are all much newer and have higher quality furniture, and yet you somehow end up paying the same price for housing as they do.

Notice which list is longer!
The truth is this: make good friends and it won’t matter at all where you live because you’ll be having a blast.
