What is meant by "Enrollment in Math 2A Lecture A will be restricted until 12 noon on 9/18 to students who are NOT Physical Sciences and Engineering majors"?

Does this mean that if you are not in the above 2 majors, you will be wait listed for the class? Are chances good to get into the class if not in the majors?

if the class is still open, you can directly enroll in it as long as you are not in those two majors. in a big lecture, depending on how early you are WLed, if you’re below 50 on the list i’d say you probably have a good chance of getting into the class (if it’s early, because it leaves time for people to change their minds and drop the class). if you don’t get in through webreg, you can try to add the class with an add card

it typically refers to particular sections of the class. other math classes will probably have different restrictions.

for those big lecture classes, its pretty easy to get in off the waitlist. when they are small or have lab portions, getting off the waitlist is problematic.

ive seen lecture classes that were overenrolled. when midterms/finals came (and every student would be there), they simply added overflow rooms.

for math 2a it means that they are saving those spots for people that are physical science majors so if you are any other major you can enroll after september 18

i think its the other way.

i means only students outside of physical science/engineering can enroll in the class up to that point. so bio majors, social science, social ecology, etc can enroll in it.
