As I gather after having browsed this forum, you can only get into a top business school after you have work experience or something else that'll show business schools that you have the abilities that they are looking for.

However, I'm unclear as to what point a business school is no longer considered a "top" business school. Basically, what are the best schools that a guy straight out of college could get into?

I just want an answer to satisfy my curiosity, I'm not planning on following this route.

right out of college? unless you have some sort of very unique experience, a family member that is either a dean/board member, or you have a building with your name, probably nothing in the top 50 for sure. Probably not even top 75.

^ Um not really. Yale admits ~55 students right out of undergrad. 3% of Wharton's class is fresh out of college. Harvard and Stanford don't require work experience, they only "recommend" it.

Unless you have 4.0 GPA, President of a million clubs, excellent essays, 800 GMAT and awesome interview, you have a little chance of getting into "Top Schools" right out of college.

Just know that it's not impossible.

I'd say it's better to work and go to a Top 10 MBA school than go to a Top 20 one right out of college.

MBA school's that are considered "good" - Chicago, Harvard, Stanford, UPenn, Northwestern (Kelloggs) etc.

Basically the MBA programs of "Top schools"
