What is exactly meant by this sentence in the Wake Forest University website?

I"m planning to transfer, and I have a business major. This was on the site:
"There are also limits to the amount of transfer work you can bring into the major. The general rule is that you must take one half of the major at Wake but some departments have more stringent rules. You can direct inquiries about this to the appropriate department.

The Wake Forest departments listed below do not accept transfer work from a 2-year community or junior college:"

Then Business was mentioned as one of the departments. What does this exactly mean for me as a business major?

It seems to be a clear statement. However, without knowledge of your particular situation, no one can tell you what it means for you.

@Publisher , does this mean that the business department does not accept any work, or does it mean that it does not accept business-related classes?

Any business courses you took at a community college will not count towards the business major.

Did you earn any business credits at a 2 year community or junior college ? If so, then none of those credits will be accepted for your business major at WFU.

I’m not sure of the right explanation, as @TomSrOfBoston and @Publisher have different answers. No credits will be accepted? That sounds not right to me, as many transfer to Wake Forest from community colleges.

I think that TomSr. & I are saying the same thing. I edited my post above to clear up any confusion. I added the word “business” before “credits”. I hope that helps !

@imveryworried they gave you the same answer. None of the classes will count toward the business major. They may count toward gen eds or other requirements like foreign language.

Please post the link to the Wake website for what you quoted above.

If you have transferred as a prospective business major to WFU from another institution, then some of your prior business courses may not be eligible towards fulfillment of your business major at WFU. In all cases, at least half of the business classes counted towards your major must be completed at WFU. If you have transferred from a 2-year college, then all of your business major requirements must be fulfilled at WFU. It appears that you could receive general credit for certain business classes for which major-specific credit will not been awarded.

Why don’t you speak to someone in student services within the business school to get further clarification. They are very helpful and will be happy to take your call.
