What is Holy Cross really like?

I don't wear designer clothes like Abercrombie & Fitch, J. Crew, Lacoste, etc.
I don't attend church, but I do have some sort of belief in God.
I'm not white.
I'm not rich.
I don't party.

I was interested in Holy Cross because I hear the academics are great and the campus is beautiful, but now I'm not too sure why I even applied in the first place anymore ...

After researching more in depth to this school, I'm a little put off.
I hear people are close-minded and that it's extremely homogenous. Plus, even though the education is great in the end, I hear it's very hard and rigorous.

Just urban dictionary HC and the majority mention: rough grades, alcohol, and snobby. I know I shouldn't pay attention to the Urban Dictionary, but all stereotypes are true to a certain extent.

So, behind all the stereotypes, what is HC really like? Or do some of those stereotypes hold true?

Oh and question:

College of the Holy Cross doesn’t have a supplement … how are they supposed to know what major you’re wanting to apply to? Confused :|

My daughter doesn’t party and is fine, some do, some don’t. Many are too busy to do it very often but there are quite a few that find the time. It is getting less homogenous and they have a wonderful program, Odyssey for minorities and International students. They have students that are religious and many that aren’t Catholic or just don’t go to church every week. You can find a place with any of them.
The academics are rigorous especially pre-med/Bio and Econ/Accounting. You have to apply to the Biology major and many drop it by the end of the first semester. You have to have the mindset to study and use your time wisely. My daughter was a good student and was challenged but the small classes and great professors helped a great deal. The students are very friendly and many help each other.
If you look at the Holy Cross trip reviews on this site. you’ll see most people were impressed by the friendly atmosphere among other things.
There are J Crew types, my daughter buys from them on sale, but she is also very “LL Bean” and wears jeans and non-name clothes also. Many are athletes so on my visits I see a lot of sweats. : )
There are a lot of well-off students, but again, my daughters friends run the gamut, very rich to full scholarship. We definitely aren’t rich, but she doesn’t feel like she’s the only one.

I would suggest a visit if you could, that helped with my daughter and talking to admissions or a professor. You only have to apply to pre-med, the rest of the majors or undecided you put on your application.
