What is it like to live in California?

My friend said that “Florida is a poor man’s California…”

miami : san diego as los angeles : _______ as san francisco : ________?

Pasadena (in LA County, for non-California people) is amazing. New England sucks because it’s cold.

Question: if houses are so expensive how can everybody afford them? The benchmark of affordability for home buyers is generally twice your income. Are there really that many jobs out there that can give both parents a combined income of 200k+ for all those homes worth 500k+?

"The thing is, “cold” is relative - I’ve gotten used to the “coldness”, and atm it really doesn’t feel cold - I rather prefer it over the really warm water.

But Florida beaches are really nice too, I have to admit. "

Sure you get used to it. But you aren’t wading in the ocean for hours unless you’re wearing a bodysuit.

There are loans you can take, however, to be honest we can’t. We are suffering in our housing market and several people are going into foreclosure:/ That being said, the amount of pay you receive here is greater than someone in say Oklahoma, but that is reflected in housing and the price of gas etc. It also helps if you save money. For example, you get a job and buy a small condo. After you have lived in it a while, you take the equity you made from that condo, and use it to buy a house.

Florida is trailer trash for the most part so yes it is a poor man’s California. That said Miami kills San Diego and any other city on the West Coast for that matter.

Does it really? Thats awesome, I’m applying

Miami kills San Francisco?:(

Miami is amazing. The weather is pretty much even to San Diego. Maybe slightly worse due to humidity and more rain. That said, everything else is nicer. Better beaches. Plus it has an amazing social atmosphere. It’s almost as if San Francisco was in San Diego’s location.

Norcal is hella cool. :D

No but really. I absolutely love living here. Here being the silicon valley area (about 45 min. south of SF) I couldn’t ask for anything more out of a living location. I was going to describe it in detail, but I’m kind of lazy and it’s probably been covered in the posts before mine.
