I am confused as to if you apply your freshman year? I was accepted as a freshman for the fall and I'm a computer science major. I am also not fully aware of what it is.

it is a residential college - most of your classes will be held in Holmes Hall where you live. You will have to take Lyman briggs college classes (that will fall in with your major) your freshman year. It’s considered more challenging than regular degrees and has a very strong reputation (I only know this based off hearsay).

I am not a part of it so I can’t really answer much more but take a look at this website - [Lyman Briggs Future Students](<a href=“Lyman Briggs College | Michigan State University”>Lyman Briggs College | Michigan State University)

Do most people in sciences do it? Would I feel exiled from people in my major if I did not do it? Would prospective employers see that I did not take advantage of this and look down on my application?

I’m a science major and not in Lyman Briggs. Are the courses harder- from what I’ve heard- no because you have more one on one with professors and the tests are written instead of scantron (partial credit op). Not being in LB has not affected me negatively at all. It’s up to you. Do you want to be in a residential college? Do you want to be stuck in Holmes for the first two years of undergrad?
As a CS major, I don’t think LB which be of much help to you.
