I think you have a good chance, but ED may be a better option for you

thx for replying. im actually applying to JHU ED. If i dont get into jhu, im hoping to come here

With those SATs, you’re in – easily. Don’t worry about it.

mephis…if you really want GWU, you might want to consider going ED. My son had very good stats, similar to yours,…he applied to a bunch of schools including GWU. He decided to go ED to Emory Univ. where he is now. Some of his friends, also with great stats, applied to GWU via RD. They were wait listed…apparently, GWU thought they were using GWU as a safety, which really was not the case. Good luck in any event.

ty for your input. yeah, i pretty much love everything about GWU, but i thought JHU might be better off for me academically regarding my major/minor. As i said before, if i dont get into JHU, i would most likely look at GWU as my #2. It also depends on how much financial aid GWU would give me.

Mephis, I wrote you earlier: you really should apply ED, your stats are good enough!
Good Luck! =-)

haha thx, but i already applied JHU ED. im hoping for the best

I hope it works out for you, good luck again!

If you don’t make it into JHU you can apply EDII to GW. If you do RD I think you have a good chance of getting in, but not to the 7-year Med program. It is extremely difficult to gain admission to that program. You’d need a higher reading score and at least a 3.8 UW GPA. Good luck with JHU!

ty, ill def apply EDII to GW if i dont get into JHU

i got an award, Academic All-State Cross Country, i hope it helps lol

You can also consider GWU for the 2nd round of ED…should JHU not work out. My nephew applied to UPenn and was waitlisted, so he applied EDII to GWU, got in and is thrilled in his third year there. Good luck in any case.

thats awesome, ty for your input, im def considering it.

Please bear in mind one thing…this past year, some kids were wait listed at GWU with similar stellar stats. Apparently, GWU felt that they were using GWU as a back up or a safe school. The only sure way to avoid this, if in fact GWU is your top choice, is to go ED ( assuming finances do not preclude same ). Obviously, GWU like many schools is concerned about their “yield”.

yeah, im kinda poor. so im gonna have to look at how much they would give me (i.e. i guess i would apply RD then)
