I got a question, does UC look at freshment grade? do they look at only 10th and 11 grade or they consider all year?
I have a Weighted GPA 3.6 and 3.8 10th grade (1st and 2nd semester)
Weighted GPA 3.67 and 4.0 11th grade (1st and 2nd semester)
SAT 1920
Chinese Subject test 780
Math IIC 720
Biology subject test 680

AP:
Calculus AB: 5
Calculus BC: 5
Environmental science: 4
Chemistry: 3
Human Geography:3

Clubs:
Key club for 3 years
Formosa cultural club for 3 years
Young Republican for 3 years

EC:
Community Basketball for 3 years
Band for 1 year
Volunteer hour for around 200 hours

Can anyone chance me? I am looking for majoy: Business

UC’s don’t look at freshman year.

SAT’s look ok
GPA, a little on the lower side. Not good. Average UC GPA was 4.01 this past year.

Your EC’s are mediocre. Any leadership?

For your major, remember that Business Administration is impacted (hard to get into). So have a backup plan ready - Business Economics works.

As for your chances, I’d call it a coin flip depending on the mood of the ones reviewing your application.

Take the ACT, too, and see if that helps. Mine looks somewhat like yours, except with some leadership, no sports, and a lower GPA. As for major, don’t think they really look at it that much, especially because you can change it right after you get admitted, and several more times in the course of the next couple years. Mine looked like
SAT: 1960, ACT=31, SAT II Math 800 (on my third try), Bio=680, chem=700
VP of math club, secretary of science (2nd club failed epically). GPA was around 3.55 both together, but I did take a lot of AP classes (9) and also community college courses (6). Volunteer was around the same too. I was pretty surprised when I got accepted, but if you don’t, meh, just go community college for 2 years then transfer to LA or Berkely, so you’re not doomed.

I have leadership on the two club i join:
VP for club Formosa
Activity coordinator for young republican.
Community Basketball my team won first place once, with a trophy

this was my stats as i applied for uci last year.
uc gpa: 3.91
cumulative unweighted: 3.69
cumulative weighted 3.85
sat: 1940
act: 29
bio sat: 700
math 2c: 750
korean: 790.

1st choice major: business admin
2nd choice major: undeclared.

i got accepted as undeclared, but luckily, business admin had openings in june, so i was able to switch.

although your gpa is lower than the average, so was mine.
And you have much better AP scores than I do.
just make sure that you know that business admin is a really popular major and they have a capped amount of students they can accept, so even if you don’t get in as business admin, you can always get accepted by your 2nd choice major.

and i advise that you get started on your personal statements now and continue to revise when school resumes.

I wish you the best!
