So Smith is currently my top choice and if I get in I want to either go Pre-Med or major in engineering. I’ve heard a lot about the engineering program and department at Smith so I was just wondering if anyone had some insight about Pre-Med/ Biology? Thanks!
I am on the pre-med track and majoring in neuroscience (which means I take a decent bit of bio). I would be happy to answer any specific questions you have if you message me.
As a Biology major here at Smith who is on the Pre-Vet track, I love the BIO department! You are able to do research of your own and the professors are wonderful at helping you sift through internship options. Also, though the classes can be challenging, there are tutors for almost every class and the professor host huge amounts of office hours. I can also out you in contact with a professor in the BIO department if you’d like.
Is the premed program supportive or are kids weeded out?

bumpity bump hello?
Dusty, I’m a vet student. I graduated from Smith. I was a neuro major while there, and never felt like they were trying to weed anyone out. Science classes are very difficult, but professors are very supportive and very willing to help if needed.
Thanks, Smithgrad! This is good to hear. Best of luck with your studies.
