What is so attractive about me?!!

congratulations to you. Though you don’t have the experience to see yourself in a national context, your attributes (especially your interest in the sciences) are apparently rare among African American males, and the schools see you as a rare prize.

You can’t go wrong with either Loyola of New Orleans or Drexel. I happened to read a review on students review dot com about a Tulane pre-med student who took a physiology class at Loyola (they have some cross registration privileges) and she was extremely complimentary about the small class sizes, the interaction with the Professor, the friendliness and collegiality of the students, and the overall quality of the academic experience at Loyola in comparison to Tulane.

You’re a URM. That’s what’s so attractive. You checked African American on your PSAT. I mean, I have far better stats and ECs than you, but got like 20k/year from Drexel. However, they crave the URMs.

Btw, you said that only the top 1% get letters from schools like Harvard. Totally incorrect. Like I said in my earlier post, they send info out all over the place to expand their applicant pool.

Yup, schools give letters to “good” students who don’t have a chance at there school but these student get the letters/emails, think they have a chance of getting in, fill out an application and spend 100 bucks all because of an email. The school then can say they reject a bigger number of students and lower there admit rate raising US News ranking.

Smart marketing.
