Curious of my standing...

Seeing as you're reading this, I just want to say thank-you for taking time to look at my post. I just recently stumbled upon this site and feel like it's a godsend. I really think I have the most apathetic guidance counselor ever born. What I really want to be "chanced" for is the University of Florida. Many people apply in my home state because of its status as a "Public Ivie," and because of this, I constantly hear stories of how much is required to get in, and I just don't feel like I have a high enough G.P.A, or enough extracurriculars, etc.

Also, I was curious if I had any chances for Cornell, Brown, or Columbia. I haven't got a reason for these specific schools other than that they are the most prestigious schools I've received letters/brochures from; believe me, I don't think this makes me special, I'm really just curious. Wow, this feels much longer than I wanted it to be. oh well! Here goes nothing:

HARD FACTS:
-Class Ranking: 14 out of 643 (If you do the math, I'm in the top 2.32%)
-Cumulative GPA: 3.7143
-Academic Core GPA: 4.1897
-Weighted Cumul. GPA: 4.8286
-Scored 1240/1600 first go on SAT (Took it again in January for better score)
-Scored 1360/1600 on PSAT

E.C.'s:
-Vice-president of Art Club
-Tutor an elementary school kid every Monday
-Secretary of S.T.A.N.D. (It's a human rights club)
-Member of Rho Kappa (It's a history honor society)
-Member of National Art Honor Society

MISC.:
-I'm an A/B student
-I'm a Junior
-I'm Hispanic (Feel bad saying this, but thought it better to than not)
-Will most likely be a commended student (scores not good enough for NMS)
-Positive I will be a National Hispanic Recommendation Scholar thingy
-Have taken five A.P.'s all together (4 this year, 1 last year, scored a 3)
-By graduation, I should be at least an A.P. scholar, maybe with Honor...

Thanks again for looking at my post. Feedback on UF would be fantastic.

Jut remembered!
-Have two legacies at UF
-Neither of my parents graduated from college

I thought it would also be helpful to state that I'm open to any suggestions for schools you believe would better suit or advice as to what direction I should be stirring myself. Also, I'm not positive, but I believe I'm gonna major in Anthropology, it just such an interesting subject to take part in.

First of all, don't Columbia, Brown, and Cornell require the writing section on the SAT? I think you're in at UF, but the others are questionable. Your ECs just don't stand out enough at the Ivies, and your scores are only average for these schools, but your hooks (that is, being Hispanic and being a first-generation student) may tip the balance in your favor.

Thanks for replying. I was really doing this to calm myself; everyone and their mother is trying to get into UF, so I'm constantly hearing stories of how amazing students are turned away and the such.
Thanks for the positivity, by the way. I see other posts were the repliers are just so mean about it.

Those are very, very different schools...you should definitely do more research before applying based on that.

Heh, more research sounds about right, mflevity. If you couldn't tell, I'm just starting my college process, but looking at everybody else, it seems I'm three years late in planning my road to college. Oh well, I can't complain about anything.
Once again, thanks for everybody's input.
