What is Syracuse University like? (student life, experience, etc)

I'm curious, I know nothing about the area, so what's it like? What do students do most often for fun, what are the "attractions", habits, fun things to do. What is Syracuse University like in itself.

I'm really just curious to know what people think, like what's the worst and the best parts of Syracuse University etc.

I'd love to see opinions :)

average weekday: wake up at 7 am, go to class, come home, eat, pregame, go to basketball game, briefly party, go to sleep.
friday: wake up at 11 am, go to class, come home, eat lunch, pregame, party till 3 am
saturday: wake up at 10 am, go to class, come home, eat, pregame, go to the carousel mall, come home, pregame more, take 2 advil, pass out.
sunday: wake up at 2 pm, complain about hangover, homework for 10 hours, sleep

there’s a beautiful downtown, but you’ll never have time for it outside of parents weekend. marshall street is fun. there’s nice food there when you’re sick of dorm food which makes you poop inexplicable amounts. the basketball games are amazing. the parties are good. people are nice. classes seem strangely easy.

Person above me pretty much has it right.

If you don’t like to party, whether it’s going hardcore at the frats or on south campus, or just low key drinking social gatherings, then there really isn’t that much else to do outside of going to class or a club you want to be involved in.

So, uh, is Syracuse 420 friendly?

Are the science classes relatively easy as well?

Your schedule seems like my kind of schedule, just a bit more studying involved. ^ Bob marley presence?

Yeah, uh, how often would you say Bob Marley visits the campus? Is he accepted there?

The kids on campus are very 420 friendly, and kids tend to like moli, e, etc. Some fratboys and sorority girls like coke. You could probably get anything you want.

Basically freshman year girls will go to frats alot, boys will spend a lot of time trying to go to frats/smoking with their friends, etc. etc.

As you get older/get to know more people you’ll start going to parties on south/the university area between comstock and westcott st.

The sports houses have parties, and there are always parties on the streets where students rent houses (be wary though, many are filled with townies, CC kids, etc.)

Marshall street is decent, with all the fast food type of thing. When you’re older you’ll start going to the bars more, mostly the ones near campus but some kids go downtown. There aren’t really clubs in syracuse besides trexx (a gay club somenights, has raves other nights)
