So basically our school has two paths, out of which only one covers calculus, and it is all based on your progress in 7th grade

Path 1

7th - Prealgebra Accelerated
8th - Algebra I
9th - Geometry
10th - Algebra II
11th - Trigonometry/Analytic Geometry/Intro to Calculus (TRAGIC)
12th - AP Calculus BC/AB (only the top students take BC ~30 students)

Path 2

7th - Prealgebra Standard
8th - Algebra 1/2
9th - Algebra I
10th - Geometry
11th - Algebra II
12th - TRAGIC or Advanced Algebra/Trig (lowest level)

-some people (only about 8 or so) are even one year ahead of path one, so they finish BC Calculus in 11th and can choose to take Multi-Variable Calculus or not take a math course.
-AP Stat is offered to all students who have completed Algebra II
-We also have an Java Programming course for 11th and 12th graders

I moved to my town in 8th grade, so I was put into Algebra 1/2 >.<
But I managed to convince the department head to let me skip Algebra I by taking the midyear and final exams for it

Geometry H
Algebra II H
Math Analysis H
AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics, Discrete Mathematics H
AP Calculus BC (Have to take AB no exceptions)

Kind of dumb b/c freshman who are placed in geometry and canāt afford to take a course outside of school arenāt allowed to take BC but then again anyone can do the test on their own time which will allow you to move upā¦ A lot more than a course will let you

7th: Algebra I H
8th: Geometry H
Summer before 9th: Algebra II H
9th: Precalculus H
10th: AP Calculus AB
11th: Calculus II/III
12th: Differential Equations/Matrix Theory

The last four courses (last two years, each class is a semester) are worth duel enrollment credit and the BC exam is taken Junior year (even though Calc II/III are far beyond Calc BC and so 99% get a 5.

8th: Honors Algebra I
9th: Honors Geometry
10th: Honors Algebra II
11th: Honors Precalculus (this is where I am right now)
12th: AP calc AB/BC (depends on what you get in precal), Multivariable calc if you took ap calc junior year

8th-11th are all the classes Iāve taken. there are egular classes as well. in 12th grade i plan on taking ap calc bc

Usual:
Algebra 1, Geometry, Alg2/Trig, Pre-Calc or Honor Calc

Accelerated:
Geometry, Alg2/Trig, Pre-Calc, AP Calc AB

How dissapointed was I when I came to CC and saw all these waaay advanced math sequences -_-. Iād love to have taken Calc in Jr year and then do one of those advanced classes.

Our accelerated sequence is
Freshmen: Honors Algebra II
Sophomore: Honors Pre-calculus
Junior: AP Calculus or AP Stat
Senior: Whichever math you did not choose junior year

In order of difficultyā¦ 8th Grade: Algebra I, Geometry, or Accelerated Math I 9th Grade: Math I with Support, Math I, Accelerated Math I, or Accelerated Math II 10th Grade: Math II with Support, Math II, Accelerated Math II, or Accelerated Math III 11th Grade: Math III with Support, Math III,Accelerated Math II, Math IV, Accelerated Math III, AP Stats, or AP Calc AB/BC 12th Grade: Math IV, Accelerated Math III, AP Stats, or AP Calc AB/BC

FRESHMAN: Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus H
SOPHOMORE: AP Calculus BC
JUNIOR: Multivariable Calculus H + AP Statistics
SENIOR: Differential Equations H

Iām pretty sure thereās even one level higher. I know someone doing Trig/Pre-Calc H, while still an 8th grader.

This is our most accelerated path, that me and 8 other juniors are taking
7th grade: Algebra 1
8th grade: Geometry
Freshman: H Advanced algebra w/ Trig
Sophomore: H Precalc
Junior: AP Calc BC (you can also take AP stats jr year, but I couldnāt fit it into my schedule)
Senior: either AP stats or go to the local community college for MVC

Then about 20 people take this path
7th grade: Algebra 1
8th grade: Geometry
Freshman: H Advanced algebra w/ Trig
Sophomore: H Precalc
Junior: AP Calc AB
Senior: AP Calc BC

Then thereās about 50 people who are one year behind one of the paths above.

As a side note I am also curious as to how much time everyone has for calculus each week, we have 7 (45 min each) periods for BC calc, 1 every day then double twice a week.
