What is the avearge GPA of an Chemical Enginering student?

I’m just scared my gpa is going to be low.

That probably depends on the school.

They did a poll of CHE senior design students about two years ago at my university and the average was 3.26 with a range of 2.69 to 3.95.

I would imagine that the people who got lower GPAs early on probably switched out before senior design, but it’s a rough estimate at least.

Note: CHE is enrollment-controlled at my school. When I got in it required a 3.0, but now it requires a 3.2. So lower GPAs also might have been kept out after sophomore year because of that requirement.

Are you in HS planning on majoring in Chem E or are you an engineering student anticipating low grades?

Depends on the school (level of grade inflation and whether the major has a secondary admission process) and how strong a student you are.

What year are you?
Is your school direct entry to engineering?

GPA can be a reflection on how much you enjoy the courses, so if your is low then you might want to look at something you enjoy studying.
