What is the best AP European History prep book?

In class, we use A History of the Modern World (Palmer, Colton & Kramer), so I thought the AP Achiever companion guide might be good. Any suggestions?

Last year, I used AP Achiever and REA’s Crash Course to quasi-self study (my teacher sucked). I got a 5.

Modern European History is good.

I got a 5 with Barrons. I prefer its layout to that of Princeton Review, because it provides space for notetaking.

Modern European History covers pretty much everything on the AP test, but there’s also some things that aren’t on it - personally, I didn’t have enough time to use it so I didn’t study with it.

Princeton Review is excellent for getting a broad idea of the themes and some specific information that contributes to their development; it also has great practice tests

Crash Course is really good for multiple choice - The AP multiple choice writers tend to ask the same types of questions about certain topics, and Crash Course covers what many of them are. Additionally, I think there’s an additional section in the back that breaks the course apart into major themes and then goes over some details about each one, which is helpful for the essays.

My personal favorite was AP Achiever - it went into a bit more detail than needed, but it helped me so much with multiple choice and essays alike. It fits in a lot of the specifics while keeping the bigger picture in mind. I believe this is the one my school uses every year. If you can only pick one, I would go with this one. I personally used a combination of this and Princeton Review to score a 5 on the test. Beginning in late March, I read AP Achiever, and then a couple of weeks before the test, I read PR to get a good overview. Good luck!

Edit: Sorry, didn’t realize how old this thread was

Mapleleaf - Your input is much appreciated. At the beginning of the school year, I purchased AP Achiever, Crash Course, and Modern European History, and all three have been great. I do also like how the Barron’s AP Euro prep book outlines the rulers for each kingdom/country clearly.

i got a 5 buying reading princeton review 3 nights before the test. but then again, i had a good teacher during the year
