Are there any good books to study for AP European History? Since there are much time to study next year AP books I think it would be not bad to study with books with adequate detail like AMSCO book for APUSH

Haha I self-studied only using Crash Course (but with extensive world history knowledge) and I’m pretty confident I got a five.

REAs Crash Course. All I used, got a 5.

Full textbook - A History of Western Society by McKay (my favourite)
Prepbook - Crash Course / REA

Listen to Hank’s History Hour on iTunes Podcasts. Then read Crash Course. Try to find some released MC tests from previous years. Don’t buy Barrons or REA. Its better to just read the textbook.

Use your textbook. Mine was The Western Heritage by Kagan - extremely extensive. Browse through pictures and important quotes by important people. I used REA Crash Course, but for some reason it did not help me even A BIT on the AP test. the similarities and differences - Complete crap in my opinion. But it does provide a brief review but in a very vague manner. i also used Cracking the AP European History Exam by Princeton Review. I skipped ALL THE CONTENT REVIEW and jumped straight to the practice tests which were too easy for me and very unreliable because it ONLY tested what was in the PR book. The content was very comprehensive but most of it was filled with unnecessary info which is not going to be tested on the AP Test and did not in mine. TOO MANY Details!!! besides that another free resource is a website called Quizlet.com. type idesperatelyneedtostudy and use her AP Euro folder - and browse through all of her flashcards and content in general. i only used PR and REA so i really can’t recommend any other prep book…

For Review with your textbook, Modern European History by Birdsall Viault in paperback. Amazon has it for about $16. Princeton is good for laying out how to write the Essays. Essays are 50% of the test, and well written, but not necessarily factually excellent essays do more for your score than anything else you can do. And I am telling you this as an AP Reader of the Euro Exam.
