What is the best summer acting/theatre program?

Other than the NYU Tisch program, what are some really good summer programs in New York City? I've been searching for one for quite a while, but every time I find one that I like and research it, there are reviews claiming that it is a scam. Could you all refer some summer programs/camps that you've been to or know about and know that they are legit?

Please and thank you.

I believe there is a long discussion thread on this topic, maybe it’s on the Musical Theatre
forum? But off the top of my head I’d look at the pre college Carnegie Mellon program and the BU Summer Institute. Good luck!

The OP seems to want NYC. Also look at Circle in the Square Theater School’s summer program. They are quite legit!

Are you looking for high school pre-college programs or are you also looking at professional programs? Because of course there are tons of acting schools in NYC that offer their own summer intensives.

The ones that I can think of are:
William Esper Studio for Acting
Michael Howard Acting Studio
Atlantic Theater Company
Stella Adler Studio of Acting
Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute
Neighborhood Playhouse
The NY Film and TV Academy (I don’t remember the exact name)

and many more!

Either or. I’m just trying to find a decent, legit, acting program that will help me get started with acting. Other than a few years of drama in middle school, I have no previous acting experience. I am currently a junior.

I’ve checked into Circle in the Square a little, but they seem to want experienced students. Is this true? If not I may look into that program further.

You have to audition to get into CITS summer program.

Yes, I know you have to audition.
