I have to finish a 4,000 word essay tonight (among other things), so I'm just curious how much you have accomplished in one night. Perhaps your incredible feats will instill in me some hope that will get me through the rest of this god-awful night...

Hahaha homework. It’s a struggle just to get my busy-work Italian stuff done every night.

Most Homework in a night:
1 Essay
1 Science Project
Math Homework

as you can see I do not have much hw. whenever I have a lot of hw it is because of my own procrastination

Last week, I was lying in bed and got super-stressed out that I wouldn’t have enough time to finish a Spanish assessment that I had to do the next night, so at midnight I dragged myself out of bed and did some Chem worksheets and a French commentary. This after working on part of an English essay for a few hours before I went to bed.

Keep going! If you find yourself getting way too tired and underproductive, set a reliable alarm to wake you up at 4 or 5 so you can finish the essay off. The adrenaline from waking up early will allow you to finish the essay. Be prepared for an awful day at school though.

Maybe 8 hours of hw, close to 9. Yeah working all night is actually a great way to get work done (I do this too much lol), but you get really runned-down that way. I’m staring 6 hours of work to do in the face right now. Ugggghhhhhh :(

procrastinated project. even in middle school–I worked on a book project for legit 18 hours after a half day and didn’t get sleep

5x 1000 word essays because there was a huge food fight in the cafeteria. The principal was ****ed off and forced all the teachers to assign us all 1000 word essays that were due the next day.

This wasn’t really homework - but I procrastinated on my science project last year lol. I had like 8+ pages of typing to finish my report, entering 8 pages worth of data in spreadsheets, converting them into graphs/charts, analyzing all that data, performing all these statistical tests (which was hell), and constructing my display board from scratch all in one night. But I placed 3rd in my category - no complains lol.

I vowed to never do to that again… We’ll see if I can keep my word this year lol

Good Luck!

Eh, well I am at 1,578 words, so not too bad. I still have 9 hours left. Technically, I can work on it over the course of the tomorrow on my laptop because it’s due 7th period. :P

It’s pretty simple because I did a lab on a similar subject, BUT I JUST CAN’T GET MYSELF TO WORK ON IT. AGHHH

oh, and @jhwu928
That tactic never seems to work for me. I always just keep pressing snooze, and then before I know it it’s time to go to school and I’m left essay-less.

In freshman year, I took AP Biology. I put off a 2-week lab report until the last day…worked from 3:30 P.M. to 5:45 A.M., woke up at 6 AM then went to school…and still got a 100% on a hard math test (avg.=45%)…the report was about 54 pages…

i had 2 epic allnighters in a row. didn’t sleep for something like 74 hours
Note that i had not slpet 2 nights prior to this because of other work/essays/projects i do not remember

Start: 6PM
2 formal labs (each are 25 pages)
1 english research paper + power point (14 pages) on the Burj al Dubai, the 7 star hotel. Hedonism paper
End: 7AM
Presented paper sleepless in class, first block the next day. then did 2 more in class labs.
went to board of directors meeting (im on school board)
went to practice
came home
start: 6.30PM
studied for 4 final exams ~4 hours each depending on difficulty
End: 5AM
proceeded to beast exams

came home
crashed.

I’ve honestly forgotten; my procrastination has noticably gone down since middle school. Standardized testing week last year was the worst since I had massive AP Gov and AP chem assignments I did that week that took at least 7-8 hours of work a night for one week to get taken care of (though I do find chemestry fun, so I didn’t mind working on 200 predicting reaction problems). The plus side was that my work load was noticably lighter from there on since those were due at the end of the year.

This year, I usually have 5-6 hours of homework at least once every week with the hefty amount of AP US that my teacher assigns the class every night and the AP phys C assignments I usually get done way in advance. Thanks to the college style of schedulling, though, I usually get a good 1-2 hours a day in school to knock out these assignments with plenty of additional time to do HW in class for calculus BC and Physics C. So usually it’s about 3-4 hours a night.

mein gott batpad, you’re a legend!

The most I had to do was in freshman year when I took notes on King Arthur…the entire book. I started it the same night, and I also had an orchestra concert that night so I didn’t get home until 9. Less all nighters in junior + soph because we’re already so sleep deprived it’s too difficult to stay up all that late.

Well, when AP exams came around last year there were multiple days when I started homework/studying when I got home at 3:30 PM and didn’t finish until 1:00 AM. I didn’t take any breaks (not even to eat dinner).

My hardest night wasn’t due to procrastination…but instead, pain meds. I had surgery on my shoulder the week before my pre-ap research paper was due (fourth of our grade) and so the week that everyone made bibliography cards, citation cards, the outline, and rough draft, I missed. Came back to school the week it was due and discovered I had to turn all of this in the next day. So, with sixty pixie sticks to counteract the drowsy effect of my really strong pain medicine, I did all of this until I was done at like 3 in the morning. Ok compared to your stories of like 5 am not bad but the kicker? I couldn’t use my left hand because my shoulder was in an immobilizer apparatus. I typed a 7 page paper with the hunt and peck method! :)
