What is the Lowest GPA someone has been admitted to Cornell with ?!

Has anyone had a really low GPA or knew someone that did and managed to get into Cornell ?

I knew someone with a 2.2 who got into USC :D

there was someone on the transfer thread looking to transfer out of cornell who had gotten in with a 3.4 in high school. he was also URM though.

I have a 3.6 and im an URM :D

Well the other guy may have written some spectacular essays as well. I don’t think URM status was enough to get him in the door.

And I’m going to have to ask: how in the world did someone get into USC with a 2.2? Did they get a presidential recommendation or something?

I have no clue

Football player?

Considering George Bush got into both Harvard and Yale, all bets are off.

I’ll bet it gets pretty low at all those schools when power legacies are involved.

3.5 uw. No hooks, just a fantastic essay. to engineering too.

^3.5uw with the most rigorous classes?

and what was his SAT score?

And I don’t need no hook for this sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit

Sorry, but I just really felt the urge to say that.

Everything is so very unexpected.!!!

If I get in, you’ll know that an Asian with a 3.68 UW/2230composite/2310combined got in.

but… fat chance hahaha. plus it’s to AAP, which considers a few more factors than the other colleges.

I got into Cornell with a 3.3. Of course, I came from a small prep school that did not weight honors classes. I was early decision and once i got in the validictorian of my class thought she was a shoo in, and she was turned down. I also think it helps that my major was archaeology.

2.5

10 char (not me, someone I choose to name as anonymous)

WOW, A 2.5?! Never expected that, can you tell us what college in Cornell that person got into, and maybe the year? And, this is stupid but, whats 10 char?

“10 char” is a common phrase used to get posts up to the 10 character limit. And don’t read too much into this GPA business. It varies a lot depending on the high school.
