What is the process after you get your BA?

I am currently attending Santa Monica College. It has been one year this semester, and I will be done with all my IGETC classes to transfer to UC by this fall 2014. I am looking to transfer by next fall 2015 with history major to get a BA.

But I am actually planning to do pre-dentistry or pre-pharmacist but I just wanted to get my BA in history to make sure I have high GPA. Would that look bad when i apply for dental school? (Would it be better to do philosophy or anthropology?)

And most importantly, how does it work when I transfer to UC with history major? Do i go back to community college to take all my prerequistes for pre-dental (Because i haven't taken those perquisites for pre-dental)? Or do I take those classes at UC even though I didn't get into that UC school for pre-dental?

You can try to do the dental prereqs at an UC… and, in fact, humanities and social sciences are not that abundant in dental school applicant pools.

So are you saying that getting BA in history is not a good idea ?

History will make you stand out somewhat for dental school…

Oh okay, so just to make sure. If i transfer to any UC with history major, do I have to come back to community college to take the prerequisites since i haven’t taken any? And the prerequisites i have to take at UC i transfer to, would they let me even though I am history major? thank you
