What is the need for the SAT II tests? Isn't the SAT I enough, why take more tests and make the admissions process even more complex? To me it just seems like a money grab by the Collegeboard ...

Umm, right, because a 9th grade math ability and a capacity for vocabulary is all a student needs.

The only SAT2 that I would say is pointless is the Math1C. I would go as far as saying that the rest are far more representative of an individual than the SAT.

SAT I/ACT test reasoning, while SAT IIs test actual knowledge. Here’s the issue to me. What’s the purpose of the AP tests? This is truly just a way for the college board to make money. They regulate both the APs and SAT IIs. One of the two should be done away with - both could work for credit and placement with proper scales.

Aren’t the SAT IIs being done away with for class of 2012?

But as of now, SAT I = reasoning, SAT II = knowledge
