<p>i don't live in the US, so i have no idea what this is. and as usual, they don't reply my emails also.</p>
<p>instead of two semesters of 15-16 weeks each, UofC has three quarters of 10 weeks each. The downside is that classes can move real fast, and you have an additional midterm and final per year (3 intead of two). The upside is that a boring class is over faster. :)</p>
<p>Many colleges in the US are on the quarter system, including such schools as Dartmouth, and most of the UCs.</p>
<p>does any class (or course or subject?) lasts for more than one...um...quarter? the fourth quareter, i assume, is the summer break, no?</p>
<p>sure lots of classes go for the full year, e.g., sciences, math, etc. They're just broken up in three quarters.</p>
<p>and also some humanity classes are in sequence too</p>
