What is the SAT?................

..........compared to the ACT. Hello there, I am a senior who has been focusing on the ACT and i really want to take the Sat. I know that many colleges only focus on the critical reading and math portion. I want to take the January 25 one. I already sent my ACT scores. I have already been practicing on the Critical reading and I haven't missed any actual passage based questions, but only vocab which can be fixed easily. Do you think I should take the January test the supplement my scores? What are the effective Sat math books that both cover the basics and hard questions. I want to study over this upcoming Winter Break. I already have Direct Hits volume 1 and 2. Any other vocab? Can i do this???

Dr. Chungs SAT Math is good; a lot of practice problems and not too much reading. The best way to study vocab is not to study lists of actual words but to study word roots, so that if you come across a word that you have never heard of you will still be able to guess the meaning by the roots. Take a practice test online, like the one from the College Board website, to see where you stand. If you do really bad, study more and take a later test, but if you do good, or even just ok, take the Jan. one.
