<p>What is the general ethos or vibe of student interactions at Tufts? Cut throat competitive or nice and cooperative? I am coming from Chicago and some impressions I have of east coast schools are that they are highly competitive. I have no direct evidence of this, just hearsay. This is what I have read in forums like this . This is , in fact, one reason I read that east coasters like to go to Carleton (eg) - they say that it is more take-it-easy vs the east coast schools.</p>
<p>Everything I’ve heard from my D at Tufts indicates cooperative. From her classmates, from those who’re older, from the professors. And that’s the impression I’ve gotten from reading about others’ experiences at Tufts. I’m sure there are exceptions, but overall it sounds like a supportive environment.</p>

<p>Son is a premed which is usually known to be cut throat. Not so at Tufts. Extremely cooperative. </p>
