FWIW, I went to Rutgers Honors back in the day for free. It was a great experience and it has only improved since then. I got into several top graduate programs thereafter, mostly fully funded. It was a great launching pad. Syracuse would also be a fine low cost option. Really, you have no bad choices here.
Ooh that’s awesome!! Yeah, over Penn, I think the school that I was considering thoroughly was Stockton only because in that program, I’d finish med school (if all goes well) by the time I’m 24. I’d be guaranteed a spot in (osteopathic) medical school, but then I wouldn’t have to be extremely extremely worried about coordinating all these ECs, maintaining GPA, etc. But also, Penn has a lot to offer in terms of activities, courses, etc. that these schools just don’t have
Trust that you have what it takes and go to Penn. They didn’t admit you randomly when they had literally thousands and thousands of applications. They didn’t admit someone who’d fail out or even be subpar. They want YOU. They chose YOU.
You’d miss on so much at Stockton!
BTW, the average of students starting med school is 24. I know 24 sounds ridiculously far from now to you and thus being settled as a family doctor at that age sounds like a good thing, but give yourself time to explore your skills, intellectual interests, and passions, time to grow, time to become everything that’s ready to burst out if given space to do so (rather than hurrying through the curriculum to get to DO school as fast as possible). Give yourself time to be a college student, then to go through Med School, perhaps give yourself the opportunity to choose a specialty. There’s so much more out there for you
you and me both. I relate to this a lot. I got accepted to my dream school as well and after the initial rush of being accepted I definitely started doubting myself and feeling anxious. I almost even convinced myself that I didn’t want to go to that school because it would be too hard or stressful. But I took a step back and remembered what made me want to go to the school in the first place and I feel a lot better now. its totally normal to feel that way.
