What is USMAPS ( USMA prep school)??

I am not sure what USMA Prep schol is..

IS it a similar college just like USMA?

then, what is the point of being "prep school"?

what are the differences between USMA and its prep school??

what are the advantages or disadvantages going to the prep school?

Reading through their website may help answer some of your questions: Welcome to The United States Military Academy Prep School - Home Page

USMAPS scholarships are usually offered to candidates who have great leadership potential but are not academically qualified for USMA. Candidates do not apply directly to USMAPS, but are considered for USMAPS if they fit the criteria when they apply to USMA.

From a present Prepster's perspective, WP Prep is a great place to be if you are not fully ready to acquire an appointment to WP. WP Prep tries to similarize its method of learning to WP, but the education.
Point of being at WP Prep is to be "provided focused academic, military, and physical instruction in a moral-ethical environment to prepare, motivate, and inspire candidates for success at the United States Military Academy."
There is no disadvantages and advantages for going to WP Prep.
It is the matter of your commitment.
Since R-Day, roughly 10~15 cadet candidates have left due to a lack of commitment.
Do not feel sorry or bad if you get an appointment to WP Prep. Be proud of yourself and work through your "current" situation or adversity.
I hope I contributed to your discussion.
Good luck!

Have you been in contact w/ the USMA wrestling coach?? What does he say??

"Do I still have a chance and if so when should I hear?"

Call your Coach or Regional Commander and ask him. You have good SATs and you have improved your GPA, it it may be that your C+ is not an issue. What was your Math SAT score?

Good luck!

Cody,

You still have a shot at USMA. Keep working on it and follow up with the Coach at West Point or RC as Ann suggested. Wrestling is a big sport at the academy and a whole 'nother level or two up from high school. I'll never forget going to a match against Navy, intense and great fun. Since West Point has a rolling admissions policy, you might hear from them as late as the day before R-Day. It does happen, so plan for your backup school, but keep trying for West Point. If you don't get in this year, you might be accepted to Prep or you can try again next year with much greater chance of being accepted if you keep up the hard work. There is nothing they like to see more than someone who perseveres and continues to improve. That is the person they want at West Point. Keep at it.

Cody,

Agreed that you should proactively check your status. Keep up your grades and you may want to consider getting some help for Algebra 2 to get over that hump.

Is your SAT score based on 1600 or 2400?
