What is worthy of any application update, if such a thing exists?

What kinds of things require and/or are interesting enough for an update to admission offices? Almost immediately after submitting applications, my son has had several things that happen that both change what his profile stated and/or are positive things (CTY high honors again, loss of major performance piece he was intending to submit, major new volunteer project) etc

If you already listed CTY high honors then I wouldn’t list it again.
I’d say: major achievement regional, state or national in scope ( including sports, EC’s etc), won a major award ( like scholastic writing), and maybe started a program that was particularly successful ( I wouldn’t send if my kid participated but I’d have him send along if he created something).

I must admit, I didn’t think to add high honors, since DC had made it all prior quarters. “Student of the Month” always seemed less than impressive, since there were usually dozens each month.

So I agree @Happytimes2001 : only add really impressive new info that would differentiate an application from others.

I am talking about High Honors through John Hopkins CTY, not a school award, etc. As they age it becomes more impressive and far more difficult to achieve. But yes, I did list it before so I understand the point.
