What is wrong with you, coach?

hey guys- 1st post- im a freshman who goes to a private school in downtown houston

ok, despite the fact that i know everybody hates freshman, hear me out for once

ok- my school is pretty rich cause it's private, so our school isn't that into sports, cause everybody's concentrated on academics

well practice for spring track started last week( a little early, but school doesn't think it's necessary to have spring and winter season), and so we got to meet the coach

he's a total ahole- he pretty much just yelled at us the entire time- i would descrbe his insults on the freshman worse than the kids in highschool- cause he didn't just say "i hate freshman" or "freshman suck"- he got really personal- making fun of how kids look, some of the throwers were out of shape, called them a fat ass(and he's the guy who is at least 50 pounds overweight), and a whole bunch of other stuff that i can't really repeat here

so our track has been messed up cause they're redoing it, so they only got the 1st layer(100% asphalt) down by the time we started practice

so im a sprinter, and last year, in the 5,6,7,8 grade division, i took third out of about 250 competitive 8th graders, with a time of 26 seconds while i was wearing spikes

so the coach, being the pathetic ahole that he is, decides to put a qualifying time of 26 seconds, on asphalt, for 200 meters, guaranteeing the no freshman will make the team

This is sooo interesting too, because last year under a different coach, the highschool team qualifier was 27 seconds, wearing spikes

and it's supposed to rain, which will slow me down even more

this is what happens when you can't get a girlfriend or a life in highschool- you resort to immature tactics that are seen as immature as soon as you turn 19

sort of a rant, but what do you think?

We all have teachers and coaches like that at some point. View this as training.

Oh well =\, . Just imagine the cops chasing you and you're running for your life.

lol- reminds me of Halloween - besides, my sneakers are banged up, there's a possibility they might even break when i go full speed

sounds like my coach!
get over it, i did, and now im being recruited so its all good =)

Get over it

Well at least now you're going to be faster.

That's pretty fast already. That would be doing an 11.5-12 for the 100m.

run like the wind bullseye

MonoTombo: 26 on the 100 to 11.5-12? I don't think so. Well, unless he is one of those guys that accelerates real well...we had one short guy on our team who would own at the 40 meter if their was a race like that. I think generally a 26 200 translates to a 12-12.5 100 meter.

I had a coach like that in basketball. You just gotta suck it up and move on or quit (definitely not my recommendation though.) It actually made our team closer because, while most of us didn't get along, we did agree that we hated our coach and therefore had something to bond us.

26 is slow... So it'll get rid of the lame people on your team, and the people who make it past the initial cut will get more concentration.

^ These are 8th graders we're talking about.
