Claremont McKenna, Williams, Wellesley, Wesleyan

Someone looking for a small LAC type of environment at a relatively low list price may want to consider University of Minnesota - Morris and Truman State University.

Harvey Mudd, technically the only LAC I applied to, though I canceled my application once I got into my EA school.

I would like to know what you guys think about LACs with ‘The Great Books’ program? Eg. St John’s College…

swarthmore! :)

Hamilton!!!

Hamilton, Carleton, Lafayette, Haverford, Bowdoin

Colorado College is probably my favorite right now. Then Occidental and Oberlin.

For academics, alumni network, school spirit(Division 1 sports), Holy Cross, Colgate and Davidson are the best.

For academics, intellectual atmosphere, and relative absence of lamentable distractions like D1 sports, Reed, Carleton, and Swarthmore are super-dooper.

@PAGRok I have reservations/prejudices about Southern, Greek, preppy, white schools. (from what I hear Davidson is pretty white and preppy) I’m sorry, I know, it is reverse discrimination, but it reminds me of Duke Lacrosse & Yeardley Love, with all these white, caveman hyper-masculine frat bros.

For the record though, the charges against the Duke lacrosse players were dropped guilty and the exotic dancer was charged with murder a few years later. But really? Where did these boys get the money for strippers and secondly why are they using it on strippers?

I love the juxtaposition and contrast of par72’s and tk21769’s replies. :)

Well, my D is off to Lafayette next year, so that has to be my pick!

In all honesty, we felt that each LAC we visited really had a personality so the right school for one person may not be the right school for another.
