What is your major?

I know some threads have had majors in them, but I want a thread exclusively about your major (it would be nice if you could tell if it's harder/easier than you thought, if you switched majors and why, if you're double/minoring/tripling and why, etc)

Major: Computer Science
Minor: Philosophy
Easier/Harder?: Easier than I thought it would be. All of the classes are at least somewhat enjoyable for me so it makes studying in this field a lot easier.

Well, I first started out as a computer engineering but changed to undecided less than a month after starting as a freshman. I found out that I absolutly hate
my Calculus and Chemistry classes, so no way to engineering for me.

Major: History
Minor: Political Science.

So far it's been what I have expected for the most part. The readling load is pretty large, but I was expecting as much.

Major: International Relations
Minor: thinking about 1 of: music, sociology, hispanic studies, philosophy
... or quite possibly not a minor so I can take a few of everything.
Difficulty: I'm not into it much yet, mostly getting GERs out of the way.

major: art (drawing/painting)
minor: Spanish

so far my art classes are cake, but frustrating because all art majors have to take the same core classes. which means my classes are full of pretentious photo students who can't draw. pretty much I can't wait to be done with freshman year.

Spanish is going well though, I'm learning lots of little things and that's always good.

Major: Chemistry

no minor.. no double major.. chemistry is enough.
Difficulty: Well, overall it's pretty easy in my mind when compared to other subjects, so I guess I found my nitche. But man... this physical chemistry (quantum mechanics) class I'm in now scares me so bad..

Major: Economics, hopefully (you have to apply into this major, can't just declare it)
Minor: English with a concentration in Creative Writing
Difficulty: After all of 1/2 of a semester, I LOVE my creative writing class. I like my econ class well enough, but so far it's all one big repeat of AP Econ, which makes it super easy, but a the same time a bit boring and waste-of-time like. Even though I got 5's on both macro and micro in order for me to place out of the intro class I would've had to write a paper petitioning for it and talk to the head of the department, and even then I wouldn't get credit for the class, I would just be able to skip it and go directly into one of the more advanced classes, so I figure taking an easy A is a lot less hassel. Anyways, yes, I don't find it very difficult so far.

Major: Biology.

Difficulty: Not that tough yet, I came out of Organic Chemistry unscathed, well, relatively, Microbiology was very interesting but a lot to memorize. Anatomy killed me, but I'm going to take it again this summer and master it, tame the beast. Physiology is quite easy, as are intro Bio and Chem. Genetics and Physics aren't that hard. I'm dreading Biochemistry and Cell Biology though. Those are supposed to be very tough. Those could kill my GPA.

Majors: History (and getting a masters in 4 yrs)
Econ (?)
Minor: Hebrew
Difficulty: History is not too difficult, just a lot of time invested in reading. Econ hasnt been too tough yet either, but I'm not in the upper lvl stuff yet, so we'll see. Hebrew is tough, very tough, especially since I'm taking Latin at the same time.

I started as an engineering major (general) and switched to history by the end of the first semester. Engineering had more problem sets and group projects, history had tons of reading (about 1000 per week) and writing.

Major: Bioengineering

Difficulty: Apparently it's the most difficult major offered here.

Major: Computer Science
We don't have minors here, but I did 3 years of mathematical physics because, until about 6 months ago, that was my major. (what my college calls mathematical physics is basically an applied math/theoretical physics degree)

Difficulty: More time-consuming than difficult at the moment, apart from computer architecture.

Along the way... 1 year of physics with lab, 2 years of pure math, 3 years of applied math, 1 year of Japanese...and this is only my 4th semester with CS courses, so I'm taking 4 at the moment

Major: Linguistics
Minor: French and MAYBE Italian
Certificate: W. European Studies

Linguistics is more difficult than I thought and the technical stuff I am not really into. I like Phonetics and learning about the histories of languages though. I thought about changing my major to make things easier on myself, but I think I will just stick it out at this point. I think I am just having a bad semester, that's all....

Major: Cognitive and Linguistic Sciences

Difficulty: Currently failing that class [CogSci 41, Introduction to Linguistic Theory] - 61.5 average. I probably should've taken the lower level classes first (the 001s and whatnot, at Brown the classes are weird and numbered strangely) but I decided to just jump right into an upper level class because they don't offer it at Tulane. Whatever, I'm not gonna pass it, so **** it.

Major: Zoology, probably German, possibly Chemistry
Minor: Neuroscience, German (if I don't declare the major)
Difficulty: the classes aren't too difficult yet, although I don't test very well. However, I haven't even been here for a semester, so I can't really judge.

Major Biomedical Engineering
Minor most likely: Materials Engineering

Difficulty: I'll show you what a real major is..... No sleep constant work, no time for anything fun. Not hard, just a lot of work.

Major: Civil Engineering
Minor: Math and History

Difficulty: I "APed" out of a bunch of the intro classes (and I did honors) so I'm a bit overwhelmed. Had I taken the regular course load and not done honors it would've been easy.

Major: French and Religion
Minor: French Translation, International Studies

Difficulty: French is pretty easy if you study once in a while. Religion is incredibly interesting and fairly simple if you do the reading when it's assigned. I might end up dropping Religion to a minor so I can pick up Russian and/or Chinese, though.

major: general engineering with a concentration in biological engineering
