What is your (non-ivy) dream school?

Mine is Georgetown. :)

MIT :) but who am I kidding, I don't have the stats to go there!

Well, if I somehow get rejected from all the ivies I'm applying to, then I want to go to Johns Hopkins.

Heh, I don't really want an ivy school. I like UPenn and Brown, but I personally think the prestige is a bit overrated. I'd rather be at a wonderful school where the people are slightly less type-A and competitive. Though at any top-tier school you'll have that.

Rice University

Rice
Northwestern
Caltech
UCB

Northwestern or Michigan

Twin 1: USAFA or Notre Dame
Twin 2: Notre Dame

The University of Virginia

Non-superelite dream school: Bryn Mawr

There was a very long thread listing people's #1 dream schools (not all of them were Ivy League schools).Take a look at it.

Vanderbilt

Northwestern :)

Although MIT would be the most ideal :( I'm too stupid for that institution, apparently. And legacy does next to nothing there... unfortunately.

This is such a horrible question. You just know everyone's going to answer MIT or Stanford.

lol, mine is Stanford

MIT for sure. If I had known what I know now back in HS, I'd have worked my arse off to try and gain admission into MIT. Though all is not lost yet, I still have a good shot at getting in for grad school.

When I visited and took a tour of MIT I instantly knew it's the place of my dreams, surpassing all other institutions ivy-league or not. Too bad I've already missed my chance for undergrad, but I know that I'll have to end up there one day in one way or another. I visited Harvard immediately afterwards including Harvard Medical School but didn't feel nearly as much chemistry as I did with MIT. If I went to Harvard, it'd only be because of its name and not much else.

P.S. I've lived in the Bay Area for half of my life and I find no chemistry whatsoever with Stanford, if I had to stay in this place then it'd be Berkeley all the way.

University of Chicago!

Stanford, Pomona College, UC Berkeley, Swarthmore

Okay, I'm going to get backended with angry replies for this, but I really don't see why Stanford is so appealing. My dad lives in Palo Alto and is trying to get me interested in the school, but it just won't work. No offense, but everyone there seems so... nerdy.

My dream school can't be Yale on this forum, so it's going to be Georgetown.

University of Miami:

It is by far the best school in the country. The most amazing campus, warm weather, close beaches, good sports and school spirit, laid-back and fun atmosphere, good social scene, south beach, coconut grove, diversity, miami's 24hour culture.

But schools like Florida State, Indiana, Arizona, and San Diego State are amazing too.
