Hello, I’m planning to transfer to a university next year (applying to most UCs) as a electrical engineering major and i was wondering what kind of computer i will need, or more specifically how much power do i need from a computer.
currently i have a 2014 Macbook pro 13" i7 8gb ram SSD. and right now I’m considering selling my macbook pro to get a surface pro 4 16gb ram i7 SSD or a surface book i5 8gb ram SSD. will one of those 2 options suffice for my time in university or will i need something else?
i hope this discussion to be for all majors and especially engineers instead of just my major so each can get an idea on what he needs.
thank you!
Will do!
one of the reasons i want to get the surface is because i can write my notes (using the pen) and organize them alot better and faster so im most likely going to buy the surface pro 4 with 16 gb ram. i realize that my notes get really mixed up in classes like calculus and physics. i recommend using one note for your note taking in class because it really is helpful once you get the hang of it.
im planning to transfer from a CCC and hoping to get accepted in of the top tier UCs (UCLA and USB). i have a 3.5-3.6 gpa, alot of experiance in my major (have a certificate for gadget repair and won a silver medal in an coding Olympiad in turkey) as well as some hardships along the way that made things harder for me but i still prevailed.
i know the macbook pro processor has a higher watt but from reading the benchmarks of those device the macbook pro is only 5-10% higher at best.
