Math is not my strong suit but I love economics, I'm currently taking AP Econ in HS, and I'm scared I'll do bad in college if my major is econ because my math skills aren't the best. I currently have an 80% in Pre-Cal, would I do okay in college Econ?

its not anywhere near as bad as you think. i dont think i even needed calculus for it.

^uhhhh...I'm pretty sure Econ in college goes much further than AP Calc BC in high school.

You'll do fine in econ at ASU given your pre calc performance.

College algebra and Finite math

Calculus & Stat some school 1-3 classes of cal but only 1-2 of stat.

my school says i only need stats

Our school required with our major to take at least one class in statistics, at least one in Calculus (but two was recommended).

If you plan to go to graduate school I would suggest, at least one semester of statistics. Two semesters (at least) of Calculus, one of Linear Algebra, and if you can fit it into your schedule, Differential Equations. Usually in most schools they will accept this combination as a minor in Math (it's what I am doing currently). It helps when applying to graduate programs, should you decide to head that route.

Schools differ on the exact requirements, but usually there is at least one calculus course (sometimes business or applied calculus) and one statistics course. Some programs may have you do stats as well as calc one, two and even three. Others will require a finite math or a linear algebra course. It all depends on the program. http://catalog.asu.edu/files/majormap08/BAECNBS.pdf. Looks like ASU only requires stats and two business math courses.

For NYU, Business Economics requires Calc I and Economics Theory requires up to Calc III. Both require at least one course in Statistics.

I think it depends on the econ program you're in. I know at CU it's Calc I, III, and Stats.

I am in intermediate micro and managerial econ right now and my school only requires intro to micro as a prereq. Since I have only skimmed the books (it's only the 3rd day of classes), they don't seem to involve anything more than basic derivatives and integrals, so I guess calc I would help a little.
