What kind of school do you go to?

I attend(ed) the formerly "racist" public, slightly competitive school that's known for their less-than flattering appearance on Remember the Titans and for housing the wealthiest students in the county.

public
noncompetitive (academically), laid back atmosphere with a few top really motivated students, so we always have those couple of people who attend top school/Ivies
really big when it comes to sports (football, basketball, baseball)
mostly white (like 90% or more?)
but people are nice, it's laid-back and fun.

i like it.

Do you attend a private school? NO

A public school? YES

A competitive academic school? NO

A competitive athletic school? NO

An all around good school? YES

An all around crap school? NO

my school is not that big on football except if u hang around football guys than u'll hear about football

Private, all-girls Catholic high school. The honors program's pretty good but top colleges just aren't on the radar of the students. We had one girl go to Yale a couple years back, but nobody else seems to even want to apply. Everyone ends up at these big state schools or colleges in the midwest no one has ever heard of... but not in a good way. (Loras, anyone? Augstana (IL)? St. Ambrose?)

^ i used to go to a all girl Catholic school until 4th grade

A public school nothing more or less. But i hope to attend a competitive semi-private school next year

Public school, I think it's competitive in academic and pretty competitive in athletics. We're pretty good in golf, basketball, and volleyball. We're overall a good school. Clubs that usually stand out are the sports and usually the theatre groups. Others, most of the ones I'm in (i.e. Robotics, AcaDeca, Math Team), don't get much mention, except maybe one announcement.

We have a lot of AP classes, I think like 20 ish. People do well in them and pass the AP tests. We've sent people to MIT, Harvard, UPenn, other big schools and such. And then the majority go to the big state university.

I think the reason I wanted to try well is that my parents, when I was little, always pushed me to do well because they had poor upbringings. Then from there I was always curious about everything and just wanted to know how everything worked.

Public school. 90% of kids are really dumb. The same twenty people take every honors/AP class. We have a lot of people who don't have parental support when it comes to school because there are many families that are immigrants. Sports is okay though. We are really good at football and basketball. For the district, we are considered ghetto. For the surrounding area, we are a good school.

No one ever goes to great schools. We had one girl go to UPenn a few years ago, and people always go to Berkeley, but just because it is in state and a lot are there for sports.

I know a lot of people who are applying to Harvard, Yale, and MIT, but I honestly think they probably won't get in.

i go to a public school, 2000ish students but we keep getting bigger. Most of the school's people who will barely graduate, and then we offer the IB program, which maybe a couple hundred students are in that are all extreme overachievers. So there's like a whole "bubble" within the school, really. But cause of CA's lame budget cuts, we're getting less and less funding and IB is really hurting and the admin seems to think its more important to keep the other 2000 in high school than to ensure the 100 over-achievers get into decent colleges. They might cut all sports from our district next year cause of budget cuts. :|

I've been in Catholic school since 4th grade. Hated middle school but I actually kind of love my high school. I also kind of hate it, but everyone here loves to hate it. It's just how we do. but I love the people in my incredibly small senior class and I know I'm going to miss it next year no matter how awesome college is.

I go to a public school in TX. It WAS ranked top 300 in Newsweek but class of '07 and '08 effed our rankings up. My class ('09) is pretty smart alot of genius who still get A+'s without studying or any effort. We have a couple of teachers who are AP National Proctors too. Approximately 1800 kids (400 in my class)

Public school, 2100 kids, IB magnet, was ranked ~300 last year, but ~450 this year cause last year's grad class was crap, awesome athletics, awesome arts, pretty good academics

My high school has about 1400-1500 students. The academics are not superior, but the sports are decent. Unfortunately, my school's overall standards are low... which is why I choose to self-study for some AP's.

i go to a pretty big public high school (about 3500). were pretty good academically, there's a wide variety of APs, our sports teams are good(i think?). Our art program is okay, we dont have a darkroom. we send people to all sorts of schools. our grading system is ridiculous and i cant wait to leave.
