What kinds of jobs do UMUC grads get with an Information Systems degree?

I’m curious which ones are common. Any software developers or engineers out there after finishing the UMUC Information Systems bachelor’s degree?

Have you asked the career center at UMUC about this? They should be able to help you find out the information that you need to know.

I didn’t know there was such a thing. Thank you for mentioning it.

I’m still a bit puzzled about choosing UMUC over UMBC. I’m a current UMBC student with 1-2 semesters left but UMUC is just so much more convenient and I could actually finish in the amount of time it takes to finish a single UMBC semester because of how long the classes at UMUC are and the fact that there are three sessions per semester. But it still worries me because this is something I might have to live with for my entire life, since this is the only degree I plan on getting, and I’ll be in debt $50-60,000 when I’m done because of student loans.

I was looking for either a business role job or a job in an IT role in programming or non-programming making at least this much so I can recover in a year.

I’d pick UMBC over UMUC. I haven’t been impressed with UMUC students/grads I’ve interviewed (but I haven’t interviewed anyone with Information Systems).

That’s what I’m leaning towards right now, but UMBC does turn out to be a few thousand dollars more, and would take more time. I’ve already done most of undergrad so this would be small in comparison, but still, it is time, which could equate to money. I would also have to travel almost every day to UMBC for the next 1-2 semesters for at least half an hour one way. It wasn’t like that before when I went there because I used to live nearby but I’ve moved in with my parents since and they’re kind of far from UMBC. I did it to finish at UMUC, found it to be so much more convenient because of the online nature of it, but I’ve been having second thoughts. If I stayed and finished at UMUC right now I would save a good deal of time and money. But a degree might be a one time thing for me so I’ll finish at UMBC if it really makes a lot of difference in terms of employability and moving up in the career in the long run.

My father has a Masters in Information Systems and makes about 300k before bonuses! He is the Vice President of engineering for a technology/banking company. Before that he was a software development manager and before that he was a principal software engineer, a senior software engineer and developer and a web and application manager.
