What kinds of passions does Stanford like?

I'm not sure which one of my main three I should elaborate on

Piano/Music
Tennis
Computers

What kinds of passions is Stanford looking for? Primarily academic?

They aren’t looking for any particular passion. It’s not about filling the 659 computer passion slots and the 235 music passion slots. They just want to know who you are, what you care about and what you have to offer. It could be any of the those you mentioned and no, it doesn’t have to be academic - it just has to be clear why attending Stanford makes sense given who you are and what you hope to accomplish now and in the future.

Working off what M’s Mom said, I think you should just BE YOURSELF. Stanford has a reputation of admitting kids who have strong passions, but don’t let the reputation sway you into saying things that you don’t feel. If it is something you are truly passionate about, Stanford will see it :)

Sincere ones
