What Law Schools Do I Have A Chance At (170LSAT/3.9GPA)

Hello!! I understand that Law School admissions vary year by year and that there are more factors than just numbers that go into decisions, however, that being said I am curious to see your opinion on what Law Schools I would be potentially accepted at with my current statistics.

My LSAT stands at 170 currently (I am planning to take it again for the second time) and my cumulative GPA is a 3.9 on a 4.0 scale.

Extracurriculars include pre-law society, undergraduate moot/mock trial experience and experience serving as a sorority academics chair.

Just curious to see which law schools would I possibly be accepted into/ consider applying to where I would have an actual chance of getting into. I am currently living in Canada and am unsure of how American law schools work. Thank you for your time in this

An applicant with an LSAT score of 170 and an undergraduate GPA of 3.90 would receive strong consideration at all 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools in the US.

Primarily factors considered in the admission process are an applicant’s highest LSAT score and undergraduate GPA as calculated by the LSDAS (law school data assembly service).

Recalculate your college GPA as described at https://www.lsac.org/applying-law-school/jd-application-process/cas/requesting/transcript-summarization .

Apply broadly, altho the odds of HYS (Harvard, Yale and Stanford) are very low. The lower T14 should throw merit money at you.

One or two more points on the LSAT can make a huge difference; for example, raising the odds of Harvard from <10% to say ~30% (for a 172). A 172/3.9 is looking at a near 80% chance of acceptance at Columbia & NYU, or plenty of tax-free merit money for those ranked lower.

Good luck.
